The Orangeville Ducks, led by GM DK, are a Basement division team that were one of the GFL's original 6 teams back in GFL Year 1. In that first season, GM DK & the team would finish the regular season with a record of 8-5, a record good enough to secure a playoff birth. In the first round, GM DK would be up against 7-6 GM Crumbs in a 2 week match-up. The final score at the end of Week 2 was 255.80-255.20, GM DK barely taking the loss here and ending their first season. That was until the next morning when a Zeke Elliott fumble would be overturned across all fantasy platforms (a result of +2.0 PTS) and DK would take the victory by a score of 257.20-255.80. With the fresh playoff victory behind them, they would head to the GFL's very first championship game vs 6-7 GM Gary in another 2 Week match-up. At the end of Week 2, GM DK & his team would come out victorious (exact final score unknown) and become the GFL's very first Champion.
Following the inaugural championship season, GM DK would return for Year 2, where the GFL would expand to 8 teams, and would once again have a solid regular season - winning The Basement division with a record of 9-4 and advancing to their 2nd straight playoff appearance. With the division clinched, they would secure the 1st Round BYE and head into Round 2 (conference finals) vs then rookie GM Medium (8-5). They would secure yet another playoff win, defeating GM Medium by a score of 170.56-127.92, and advance to a 2nd straight Championship Game. The first team to go to back to back championships. In this Championship Game, they would go against 5-8 GM Squid who was coming off a miraculous playoff run, beating the odds and winning 2 straight to get there. After a couple questionable line-up decisions, GM DK would lose to GM Squid by a score of 169.22-144.88 and fall just short of retaining the championship.
Back to the drawing board in Year 3, GM DK would return looking to get back to another Championship game but would end up having their worst regular season so far, finishing with a record of 5-8 but still making the playoffs due to a historically weaker Basement Division surrounding them. In the first round it would be a rematch of the GFL Year 1 first round match-up vs 8-5 GM Crumbs. They would get their revenge when GM DK & the team would suffer their first official playoff loss, falling to Crumbs by a score of 164.52-103.94.
No championship game to be a part of in Year 3, GM DK would return yet again for GFL Year 4, which was the expansion year to 10 teams as well as the final redraft season. They would improve their regular season record from the year prior, finishing at 8-6 but not being able to secure the division title, so back to the 1st round they went where they would face off against 7-7 GM Ryan & Rickety Stool Co; one of the leagues freshest teams. They would once again fall short in the first round, losing by a score of 124.16-90.32.
At this point, GM DK had made the playoffs for all 4 years of the GFL redraft era, and would enter GFL Year 5 (Dynasty) ready to keep the streak alive, under their new official team identity, the Orangeville Ducks. They did not keep the streak alive. The Ducks would finish the regular season with a record of 7-7 and fall just short of making the playoffs, sending GM DK to his first official Last Place Tournament appearance. In the 1st round, the Ducks would go head to head with 3-11 4th & Medium & would lose by a score of 165.98-107.64, sending them to their very first Poo Bowl appearance. Their opponent would be a familiar face, GM Crumbs & the branded Stocking Stuffers. GM DK & the Ducks would be able to escape total defeat, winning by a score of 144.36-85.98, making GM Crumbs the official Poo Boy.
GM DK & the Ducks look to stop the bleeding & get back to their championship ways as we enter GFL Year 6. What followed was a typical Ducks season filled with a ton of trades & moves, leading to a 7-7 record once again but this time just squeaking into the Playoffs over reigning Champion Hail Gary & BTU. In the 1st Round, they would go against GM Seanny & the Tuckahoe Turtles (8-6) and would win by a score of 219.10-173.64. The Ducks' 1st Playoff win since GFL Year 2. They would then head to the 2nd Round where they'd be matched with Basement Division Champion 4th & Medium (8-6) and would once again win by a score of 186.90-177.62. Onto the Championship Game they went, their 3rd appearance in 6 years, where they'd be going head to head with 12-2 powerhouse Rickety Stool Co. of The Garage. The Ducks would win their 2nd Championship by a score of 162.20-142.82, defeating GM Ryan & RSC, with Championship MVP given out to QB Lamar Jackson. More accolades would be given out at the Year 6 Award Show where GM DK would win "Best Trades" and would have RB Christian McCaffrey take home his 2nd GFL MVP Award, both with the Ducks. GM DK & the Orangeville Ducks enter Year 7 as your reigning GFL Champions and look to celebrate all year long.
