Jim Janethon

Jim spent many years prior to the GFL bouncing from league to league and was never too successful in the team management department as a GM, but was also never quite satisfied with the standards of the leagues he was a part of. That took us to 2017 when Jim decided it was time to start his own, and while he was only able to find 6 GM's interested in the start-up season, it was enough to birth the GFL (originally Garage Football League). With the help of the talented & dedicated GM's around him, he would eventually expand the league to 8 and then 10 teams and also successfully transition the league from Redraft to a full fledged Dynasty format for GFL Year 5. Jim & GM DK have been commonly mistaken for each other, but Jim assures everyone that they are not related. The league remains 10 Team Dynasty & Jim remains as the commish today.

Boomer bust

Co-Commissioner & Lead Reporter

Boomer first made his appearance in the GFL around mid-season of GFL Year 4 and became heavily involved in the behind the scenes business of the league as the GFL prepared to transition to Dynasty in GFL Year 5. Boomer would begin appearing in Weekly Write-Ups with historic GFL facts & exclusive scoops on the GM's, even creating a full & detailed League History for the league. Following the conclusion of GFL 4, Boomer would announce the debut of the GFL Podcast where he, alongside Jim Janethon, would interview all 10 GM's about their seasons & goals for the future, and even had an all out game show edition at a point. The podcast remains a GFL staple to this day. As the GFL approached Dynasty, Jim would announce he would be appointing Boomer as the official Co-Commissioner of the league to help with just about everything, including the official GFL Handbook. Boomer remains Co-Commish currently.

Tony rosso

Third Year Writer

Tony was the very first and most eager applicant to sign up when GFLDynasty.com posted a Help Wanted ad for GFL7, just the enthusiasm Jim looks for in new talent. And it didn't hurt that Jim already had his resume on his desk from when Tony asked for a job years ago. How about that dedication? Mr. Rosso has spent the last several years researching the GFL, developing his persona and honing his writing craft, waiting for the opportunity to contribute. He's ready to take on a major role in his first year, eager to live up to the Jim Janethon Standard.

Calvin Von Strangle

Third Year Writer

Calvin Von Strangle was recruited to the GFL writing staff in the offseason leading up to GFL7 by Boomer Bust. With Commissioner Jim Janethon taking on a more focused role in the Head Office, the GFL sought to find only the best of the best new writers and reporters to pick up the slack. Calvin describes himself as a fantasy football fanatic, playing in multiple leagues himself, though his love and appreciation for the GFL takes hold over all. His only passion outside of football? Gains.

RJ

First Year Writer

Hired following Week 1 of GFL Year 9, the writer known as RJ was FIRED from his previous position within a rival league for being "too harsh" on the GMs, some even deeming him a bit of a hater. It turns out the other league was correct. RJ is a certified hater. You better hope RJ isn't writing about you at any point during the season... you might get your GM feelings hurt. What's his problem? Maybe one day we'll find out, but for now we're stuck with his bitter bullsh*t.

Craig

Podcast/Media Producer

Craig is the right hand man to Boomer Bust and helped produce all episodes of the GFL Podcast and would eventually be added to the GFL Council to help with any & all league decisions. He remains with the league today.

The Cantina Band

GFL Year 1

Joining the league in Year 1 as a recommendation from GM Red, GM Mike R. would lead one of our original 6 teams to a 3-10 regular season record, which would lead to missing the playoffs entirely. The Last Place Tournament was not a thing until Year 2, but GM Mike R. is regarded historically as the league's first Poo Boy. After the tough first season, GM Mike R. would not return for Year 2, & he has not been involved with the league in any aspect since.

Shotgunnin' Squid

GFL Year 1 - GFL Year 2

One of our original 6 GM's, GM Squid would join the league for GFL Year 1 and would struggle in The Garage division in their first regular season, finishing with a record of 4-9 and missing the playoffs. GM Squid would return for Year 2 where the league would expand to 8 teams, and the team would once again struggle in the regular season, finishing with a record of 5-8 but this time just barely clinching a playoff spot. The team would then go on a miraculous playoff run, defeating GM Gary in Round 1 then defeating GM Red in Round 2, advancing to their first ever Championship game. They would go up against reigning Champion GM DK, and would win by a score of 169.22-144.88, becoming the league's 2nd Champions. Before GFL Year 3, the team would ride out on top, leaving the Garage Division spot open for GM Vinny/The Slug to join who remains with the league to this day.

Cheeses of the globe

GFL Year 2 - GFL Year 3 (GM), GFL Year 5 - GFL Year 7 (AGM), GFL Year 9 (Coach)...

Joining the league during the 8 team expansion in Year 2, GM Cheeseman would lead Garage Division team CheesesOfTheGlobe to a solid rookie regular season, finishing with a record of 7-6 and securing a playoff spot. In the first round, Cheese would go up against fellow rookie GM Medium and would lose by a score of 138.18-106.90, ending the first season. Returning for Year 3, GM Cheese & the team would see a MASSIVE improvement across the board, finishing the regular season with a stellar record of 11-2 and winning the division title & first round BYE. They would enter the 2nd round going against GM Crumbs, and would just barely lose by a score of 161.64-156.46. An unfortunate end to a historic regular season, The Cheese would retire from the GFL with an 0-2 playoff record but plenty of memorable moments throughout. GM Cheeseman had since become AGM Cheeseman, helping run things for GM Gabe's team (Coxsackie Calves) beginning in GFL Year 5, with the partnership ending following GFL Year 7. The partnership then resumed for the start of GFL Year 9, with Cheeseman returning as a Coach for the Calves.

Stocking stuffers

GFL Year 1 - GFL Year 7, GFL Year 8 (Coach)...

GM Crumbs has been a staple of the GFL since its inception, and despite selling his franchise to GM Court in January 2025, Crumbs remains an active participant as the current Coach of the Orangeville Ducks. During his redraft career, GM Crumbs saw highs and lows to the tune of a 2nd Place Runner-Up honor in GFL3, as well as a 2nd Last Place finish in GFL2. Upon the league's transition to Dynasty, GM Crumbs and the Stuffers would infamously trade out of the #2 draft slot back to #10 with GM Ryan of RSC, which some would argue started the cascade of dominoes that led to the sale of the Stocking Stuffers after three consecutive 9th place finishes, highlighted by his first Poo Boi title following GFL5. Let's Ride. Crumbs was hired by GM DK & the Ducks following his departure to be the first ever GFL coach for the franchise.
