4th & Medium, led by GM Medium & AGM Decks, are a Basement division team that entered the GFL as part of the 8-team expansion in GFL Year 2 (led by GM Medium himself at the time). He came in with history in the hockey world and some brief fantasy football history in the distant past, but started fresh with a new experience in the GFL and proved his capabilities immediately with a 8-5 regular season record in his rookie season with a playoff birth to go with it. The record secured the team 3rd in the division, so they would enter the 1st round vs a fellow rookie GM at the time, the Cheeseman with Cheese Of The Globe. 4th & Medium would defeat the Cheese, winning by a score of 138.18-106.90. With a playoff win under their belt, GM Medium & team would face reigning champion GM DK in the 2nd round but would lose by a score of 170.56-127.92, ending their first season one game short of reaching the championship.
Entering GFL Year 3, GM Medium would recruit some help in the form of his first Assistant GM, AGM Gabe, to help get them back to the playoffs. Mission successful. In a year where the Basement division struggled across the board, 4th & Medium would finish with a record of 5-8 but once again secure 3rd in the division and enter the playoffs for the 2nd straight year. They would meet eventual champion GM Vinny in the 1st round and fall just short by a score of 144.46-138.90, ending their 2nd season before they could go any further.
With the league expanding to 10 teams in GFL Year 4, AGM Gabe was be offered a role to become a full-time GM of his own team and accepted, leaving GM Medium solo once again. Immediately following the GFL 4 Draft Lottery, before the season could get underway, GM Medium announced he would NOT be lonely for the upcoming the season, officially hiring AGM Decks who remains with the team to this date. In GFL Year 4, the final redraft season, 4th & Medium with the new regime would end up missing the playoffs for the 1st time in their history, finishing with a record of 6-8, 4th place in the newly expanded divisions. They would officially head to the last place tournament where they would lose in the 1st round to GM Gary by a score of 94.70-84.44 and head to their first Poo Bowl, going up against GM Seanny. Thankfully for GM Medium & AGM Decks, they would escape & win by a score of 162.08-111.58, avoiding any sort of punishment.
Onto GFL Year 5, the 1st year of Dynasty, Medium & Decks would return to lead 4th & Medium but things would end up starting slow and ending slower, leading them to a league worst record of 3-11 and missing the playoffs for the 2nd straight year. With the 1st Overall Pick secured (and first rookie pick in GFL history) for GFL Year 6, 4th & Medium would enter the last place tournament once again but this time escape in the 1st round, defeating GM DK & the Ducks by a score of 165.98-107.64. The team ended up selecting new face of the franchise RB Bijan Robinson with the 1st Overall Pick in the 2023 GFL Draft and looked to turn things around for good in GFL6.
Despite entering GFL6 ranked 8th in the Preseason Power Rankings, Medium remained confident and put his money where his mouth was. Documented on the GFL's first season of "GFL Hard Knocks - 4 the Record", Medium took the league by storm with the help of UDFA sensation Puka Nacua and offseason waiver claim Kyren Williams. They would go on to win their first career Basement Division title with an 8-6 record, earning a first round playoff BYE. Unfortunately, they ran into the red hot Orangeville Ducks in round 2 and lost by only 9 points, and their phenomenal bounce back season came to an end. They would've preferred the belt, but they still walked away from the GFL6 Award Show with plenty of hardware including ROTY, Most Underrated Player, and the first GM of the Year honors of their career. They'll hope to carry that positive momentum into GFL7.
Located on 4th Street in Cassadaga, FL (the Psychic Capital of the World), the Medium Colosseum seats precisely 44,444 fans. No more, no less. On top of that, tickets are only sold in packs of four. Superstitions and traditions run deep here. A strange aura can be felt when entering the stadium, exasperated by the muffled chanting that's seemingly coming from under the field? Oh, and try not to make eye contact with the locals. Don't ask why.
