The Tuckahoe Turtles, led by GM Seanny525, are a Basement division team that made their GFL debut as a part of the 8-Team Expansion for GFL Year 2. In their debut season, GM Seanny & squad finished the regular season with a league low record (tying GM Crumbs) of 3-10. The poor season from the rookie GM sent the team to their first Poo Bowl, GFL's official Last Place game, where they would lose to GM Crumbs by a score of 148.40-110.80 and be crowned the 2nd ever Poo Boy.
An unfortunate learning experience for the first time GM led them to GFL Year 3 where they would improve their regular season record and finish at 6-7, winning the Basement Division in the process (the 3 other division teams finished 5-8). Their first Division Title secured just one year removed from being the Poo Boy, GM Seanny raked in the awards at the GFL Award Show, winning GM Of The Year, Most Improved GM/Team, and Most Underrated GM/Team. They entered the playoffs with a 1st Round BYE and prepared for their set opponent who was victorious in Round 1, a fellow rookie GM, GM Vinny/Slug (9-4 on the year). In a game that came down to the wire, GM Seanny & team weren't able to get it done in Round 2, just barely losing to the Slug by a score of 156.36-155.72.
With their 2nd full season coming to an end, GM Seanny would enter the GFL's final Redraft season & expansion to 10 teams in GFL Year 4 ready to defend their division title. They would finish the season with a record of 7-7 but just barely miss the playoffs by 1 game. Yet again an improvement record wise, GM Seanny would unfortunately enter the GFL's first ever Poo Tournament, once again just barely losing to the GM that beat them in the playoffs a year prior - GM Vinny/Slug (4-10) - by a score of 90.84-88.38. This would send GM Seanny & the squad to their 2nd Poo Bowl where they would face off against GM Medium of 4th & Medium (6-8). The team would lose that game as well by a score of 162.08-111.58, becoming the GFL's first ever 2 Time Poo Boy and take home the "Worst Trades" award at the Award Show due to the now infamous Johnny T for CMC trade with GM Crumbs.
With a completely up & down start to GM Seanny's now 3 year GFL career, they would officially brand their team as the Tuckahoe Turtles as we entered Year 1 of Dynasty, GFL Year 5. The Turtles would once again finish the regular season with a record of 7-7, but this time were able to make the playoffs due to a 200+ point advantage over 4th place in the division (Ducks). Finishing 3rd in the division, they would then face off against 2nd in the division, Between The Uprights (GM Gabe, 8-6), and lose by a score of 169.64-157.50. A close game, but the Turtles would fall to 0-2 in the playoffs all-time and look to return there, not the Poo Bowl, and make a habit of it.
The 2023 GFL Rookie Draft provided the Turtles a unique opportunity to make a splash when they selected Jahmyr Gibbs, Anthony Richardson and De'Von Achane. Those picks paired with a big trade to acquire Michael Pittman and Sam LaPorta from BTU set them up for another strong season. Battling near the top of the division all year long, Seanny ended up finishing 2nd in the Basement with a record of 8-6. Better and better every year (regular season only). As for the playoffs, the Turtles will continue to search for their franchise's first playoff win after falling short to the Orangeville Ducks in round 1 of GFL6.
GFL7 would prove to be a record year for the Turtles, and it was the perfect time for it as it was all documented on "Season 2 of GFL Hard Knocks - Swimming With the Turtles." They would once again finish 2nd place in the Basement with a record of 8-6, though in the process would overcome demons such as winning their first PRIMETIME game. After ending the regular season on a 4 game win streak, the Turtles buckled down and also earned GM Seanny his first career playoff win. They weren't done there, though, as the Turtles would proceed to win again in the Basement Semi-Finals en route to their first Championship appearance. Despite unfortunately falling short in the final game, GM Seanny and the 2024 Tuckahoe Turtles became the first team in GFL history to score 200+ PTS in multiple playoff rounds, achieving the mark in all of rounds 1-3. While they wouldn't take home the belt, they earned some nice hardware of their own at the GFL7 Award Show, including their second career GM of the Year honors.
Located in Tuckahoe, NY, the Turtles stuck true to their namesake when designing their home. With a retractable dome designed to look like a turtle shell, this is one our most creative stadiums. It may be the lowest capacity stadium in the league, but this place becomes deafeningly loud when the roof closes and the fans start chanting "TUR-TLE POW-ER!" Oh, and free pizza when the Turtles win. Doesn't get much better than that.
